We had another well-attended meeting with several new attendees and a ver informative presentation from Linda Ketterer and Valerie Hebert from Nami San Diego!!

- Trauma-Informed Journey Presentation
- NAMI San Diego CYF Liaison, Linda Ketterer – Lead Trainer & Valerie Hebert – Family Support Specialist Linda and Valerie gave a very informative presentation on NAMI San Diego, which is the largest NAMI affiliate in the nation! They shared about the organization’s origins, resources and programs, including as CYF liaison for BHS (providing feedback to BHS about problems, policies and positives) and particularly highlighting the vital (trauma-sensitive) function of family support partners in supporting and engaging consumers and their families. Science movement Dana reviewed joining ACEsConnection and San Diego ACEs group to access Guide Team meeting schedule, minutes, etc… and also how to edit notifications and join other groups.

- Committee Report Out
- Membership Committee – Stephen Carroll/Linda Ketterer
- Steve and Linda created a 1-page orientation sheet for new members, which includes how to join ACEs – see Steve or Linda after meeting if you want a copy. Also see attached for a copy.
- Training Committee – Craig Beswick/Melissa Tran-Chamblin Neither Melissa or Craig were able to attend today’s meeting. Dana shared that the TIC training data base which the committee has been creating will be posted on ACEs, probably after its roll out in their upcoming March meeting, and will be presented to the membership at large in May’s meeting.
- Resource Committee – Cambria Walsh/Morgan Baskett Cambria and Morgan continue to focus on members as resources and creating way to gather this knowledge from members. They hope to present on this in May’s meeting. Email them if you’d like to join the committee at: SDTIGT.resource@gmail.com
- Marketing Committee – Recommend closing as met goals Dana and Rosa Ana recommend ending this committee as all marketing materials (banners, brochures, etc…) have been created and obtained.
- Communication Committee – Invite members (need co-chairs) The creation of a new Communication committee was presented to focus on disseminating Guide Team information; Leadership committee will further clarify purpose of this committee; contact Amelia, Dana or Pam if interested in joining. The suggestion was made that all committees post their meetings on ACES in case others are interested in joining. All Committee Chairs will do this for future meetings.
- Mobilizing Action for Resilient Communities (MARC)
- Upcoming site visit - Dana shared the County Proclamation which was presented at Resilient San Diego! Event in Balboa Park in December 2017. Event was way to share trauma informed resources/concepts with the community. The three videos created for/from this are posted on ACEs. The Leadership committee is discussing where to post this proclamation. MARC grant close-out interviews are happening next week. We should receive a brief report summarizing the Guide Team’s achievements around May and a cross-site analysis of all MARC projects in the Fall. These will be posted on San Diego County ACEs when they are received.
- Announcements/Achievements
- Opportunity for member agencies: “Empowered to Connect” hosted by Rooted in Love (April 13 and 14, 2018) is a national 2-day training in Lakeside. Agencies can register for training and/or provide resource booths at breaks and lunch. Audience: foster/adoptive families and those who serve them. Guide Team members can take SD-TIGT brochures. - Dana Brown shared about Thomas Ahern’s Mobile Education West Coast Tour stopping in San Diego on May 10th 8:30 – 1pm, Tuesday. This is part of a campaign to heal childhood trauma, with a focus on adoption, resources, advocacy and showcasing local trauma informed services. This could be an opportunity for Guide Team member agencies to provide resource booths. See Mobile Education West Coast Tour blog on ACEs for those agencies interested.
- Linda Ketterer let us know that Growing in Health and Hope is the theme for mental health awareness month. The CYF celebration is on May 2nd and NAMI is organizing this. Contact Linda if interested in participating in the planning process.
- John Michno shared about a group he attended through Better Angels and the NCRC (National Conflict Resolution Center) to facilitate civil conversations across the political divide. See attached flyer for more information if you you’re your organization is interested.
