The San Diego County Suicide Prevention Council (SPC) began its update of the San Diego County Suicide Prevention Action Plan (SPAP). In this new update, nine suicide prevention strategies were established and the SPC will begin a series of implementation meetings for each strategy.
We will be holding the SPAP Outreach for Coping & Connectedness Strategy Implementation Meeting to gather feedback, suggestions, and recommendations on implementing this strategy Countywide and we are asking all stakeholders to attend, so we can have comprehensive input as we dive deeper into these strategies.
This event is FREE and light refreshments provided. Community members, media members, and all interested individuals are welcome to attend.
Topics to be Discussed:
- Building coping and problem-solving skills as a first-line of defense
- Establish Peer Support Networks for at-risk populations
- Develop strong social networks and connections to reduce isolation
- Allow for innovative ideas and approaches
