This series of 2 workshops will provide a parenting framework that includes research-based principles and practices, as well as new strategies. You will be able to apply these principles to your work with at-risk children through an understanding and use of Empowering Principles, Connecting Principles and Correcting Principles.
Participants will gain an understanding of basic attachment styles for both children and adults and the resulting positive and negative relational patterns, become aware of the antecedents for secure attachment, and gain skills needed to build a secure attachment with children.
In addition, participants will gain an understanding of the critical importance of sensory processing for survival and how chronic trauma can negatively impact the proper functioning of the sensory system.
