Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS)
Marguerite Harris from San Luis Obispo County Juvenile Probation as well as Lindsey Thomkins and Zack Curtis from San Luis County Office of Education will be presenting on Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. The Juvenile Hall in San Luis Obispo County has implemented Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) throughout the facility. PBIS uses trauma informed, research-based strategies to improve the quality of interactions with youth and decrease problem behavior through changing the environment and teaching youth new skills. They will share the way in which they have implemented these strategies and captured data to ensure the quality of their delivery.
