As we approach the holidays, we want to share tips to get support in our community and to expand your mental health education with workshops and mental health first aid training. We have shared the YouthWell calendar filled with programs for parents, teachers, and teens as well as a community calendar of things happening around Santa Barbara County.
This SUNDAY, Nov 3rd, is a wonderful opportunity for TEENS and FAMILIES to learn from many SB County organizations about meaningful ways to volunteer in our community at our Where to Volunteer In Santa Barbara County workshop. Completing community service hours is more than checking a box off the to-do list... it’s learning about the joy of volunteering, learning new skills, and an opportunity to grow and discover new passions. Find which areas (animals, arts & culture, homelessness, environment & science, education, camps, elderly) are meaningful to you. Volunteering helps people manage stress, feel connected, and increase self-confidence.
Our 2nd annual Student Advocacy and Wellness Summit is around the corner. High school students in Santa Barbara County are encouraged to attend this FREE all day workshop on November 16th in Santa Barbara where they will participate in breakout sessions with inspiring speakers. Details are below - registration is required. Transportation is available for students living in mid and north Santa Barbara County.
Happy Halloween!
-Rachael Steidl, YouthWell Executive Director
