Please join APSAC in the celebration of Juneteenth.
Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. The term Juneteenth comes from the date June 19, 1865, when enslaved Africans in Galveston, Texas, found out that they were free a full two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation became official.
APSAC continues its commitment to fighting racism and bias in child maltreatment through its Cultural Institutes, Commission for Racial Justice, Child Welfare Lecture Series, and other Racial Justice initiatives. |
