The UCLA-UCSF ACEs Aware Family Resilience Network (UCAAN) is partnering with PHI’s Population Health Innovation Lab (PHIL) to build the Preventing and Responding to Adverse Childhood Experience (ACE)-Associated Health Conditions and Toxic Stress in Clinics through Community Engagement (PRACTICE) grant. This is a multimillion-dollar California statewide grant to:
- Strengthen partnerships to screen for ACEs and respond to toxic stress.
- Develop sustainable, evidence-informed, real-world clinical services that target ACE-associated health conditions and support the prevention of ACEs and response to toxic stress.
- Build a sustainable workforce to support ACE screening, respond to the impacts of toxic stress and adversity, and promote ACEs prevention.
With support from the California Office of the Surgeon General (CA-OSG) and the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), PRACTICE will be releasing up to thirty grants, each ranging from $500k to up to $1 million, to support clinical teams mobilizing a health system’s response to address toxic stress within local California communities.
NOTE: There was an optional RFI to be completed by March 21, 2022. Completion of the RFI was encouraged to help grant organizers better understand the existing ACEs landscape, assess organizational capacity across the state, and plan for the technical assistance needed to ensure the success of selected grantees.
