New youth soccer league in Redding goes beyond the field [KRCR News]

REDDING, Calif. — A new soccer league in Redding is now accepting players to sign up for their season that will start in September.

The Valley Christian Church League is a youth soccer league for kids ages four to eighth grade.

You can sign up here.

While youth soccer leagues are a dime a dozen in Redding, Valley Christian Church wants to use soccer as way to teach kids valuable lessons on and off the field.

League Director, Candice Carter, says sports are a great way to teach young athletes how to work as a team and learn discipline.

"We are teaching good team work. How to serve and love others even in a sports setting," said Carter.
