Theme for the Year: Promoting Resiliency and Well-being Showcase effective practices and highlight what's being done in northern counties to promote resiliency. The Learning Community provides opportunity for thought leaders to strengthen capacity and begin coordinating common elements that promote resiliency and well-being throughout the Northern CA Region.
Topics will reinforce the Protective Factors framework, trauma-informed and family strengthening approaches, as well as social determinants and whole person perspective
On November 6th, Angela Ponivas, Bureau Chief, CA State Office of Child Abuse Prevention will provide a keynote presentation related to the Families First legislation and moving the dial toward prevention. The event will include a panel of local presenters (Medocino, Shasta, Siskiyou counties) that will provide insights and strategies from their best practices and policy relevant to promoting resiliency, protective factors and prevention of trauma exposure within their organization and extending reach into the community.
Increase understanding of OCAP legislation and its implications for prevention and resiliency promotion
Share information about specific ways that local organizations are providing services and successfully implementing best practice and policy to promote resiliency
