Dear Sonoma County ACES Connection members,
I am excited to remind you that our next meeting is Wed 12/16 from 12:30 to 2:00 in the Public Health building located at 625 Fifth Street Santa Rosa, 95404. Several members indicated that they were feeling conflicted, they wanted to be at our meeting and also attend the training at Child Parent Institute, and as such we will push back our start time to 12:30 and end at 2:00 so everyone has the opportunity to participate.
Maybe it is just me, but it feels like the last couple (few?) months have been a whirl-wind of amazing experiences, while at the same time, there have been feeling of frustration too. I think this can easily occur when a passionate group of people move forward in an accelerated pace! Hold onto your hats! It might get a bit bumpier, but together, we will move forward into the next chapter of our amazing work together!
During our meeting we will review the deliverables we promised through the MARC grant – and strategize regarding next steps.
And we can look at the ACEs meetings in Philadelphia and San Diego – two different ACES related meetings – with very different tempos!
Since our last meeting, we have additional accomplishments to celebrate: Kate will share her “win” – she made a mighty step forward towards her brochure! Allen can share how he successfully advocated that ACEs be including in the DHS strategic plan! Beth can share how HPPE is supporting SRCS to host two showings of Paper Tigers! Kellie can talk about her efforts to bring Trauma Informed Practices into the Cradle to Career framework! Paulinecan speak about the (sold out!) training for home visitors on how to ask the hard questions! Grace can share the outcome of the CPI hosted training focused on attachment! Allison can share how the Petaluma Healthcare District hosted Paper Tigers showing with school administrators and it was a catalyst for further discussions! Allen & Pauline can share how ACEs was a recurring theme of the day-long managers and supervisors meeting! I am sure there are other ACEs and Trauma Informed Care related efforts that we could fold into this celebration! Please plan to speak up and add to our joyful celebration!
Make sure your calendar is mark and you are planning to attend our last Sonoma County ACES Connection meeting of 2015!
Send any agenda suggestions to me, asap!
See you Weds!
