As we approach another Easter without the excitement of community Easter egg hunts, school activities, and all the things that make the holidays special for community and especially our children- their POSITIVE Childhood experiences.
Last year I coordinated a Easter Egg Hunt To-Go and have ran with the idea again this year. With the support of almost 20 organizations, it is coming together nicely. Inside the Easter Egg Hunt To-Go bags will be a dozen eggs including one golden egg with a special surprise, there will be coloring pages, local resources, and goodies that promote resilience, family engagement, and community connection.
It is important to me to meet people where they are and bring the resources to them in a way that may buffer the stress of the current times, and bring joy to their lives.
The feedback from families that last year this offering single handedly saved their holiday, parents showed up last year in tears full of gratitude, and the smiles on the children's faces radiated through their masks.
