Join us to learn the six stages of becoming a father friendly agency!
With the support of the Santa Rosa Violence Prevention Partnership, CPI is hosting a FREE training on father engagement for community service providers. This training is limited to about 20 participants so we encourage you to select someone from your agency to attend. Our speaker, Tom Grayson has been speaking passionately about his subject for over 14 years both regionally and internationally. The training will take place at CPI on Monday, October 19th from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and lunch will be provided.

Parent and family supports are the building blocks of efforts towards prevention and intervention in community youth violence. The National Youth Gang Survey states that over 92% of gang members are males. In families with strong father involvement, both males and females are more supported and less likely to be attracted by gangs. In a study conducted in 2009 promoting father engagement with children parenting stress decreased the most when fathers and mothers participated in parent groups together. In addition, when fathers were engaged, their involvement significantly increased and their children become much less aggressive, hyperactive or socially withdrawn than children of fathers who did not attend parenting groups.
