- Review of Current Membership – Allen presented a spreadsheet coding the 160 persons on the current mailing list by agency affiliation. About 62% work for health or human service agencies, 10% for educational groups, and 3% for criminal justice. Of the remaining 25%, several did not list an employer, but probably would also count towards one of the listed groups. There were only two persons who indicated they were retired. Current membership is therefore heavily skewed towards working professionals.
- Discussion of Gaps – Allen noted that we have no persons self-identified as leaders in the faith community (priest, rabbi, iman, minister, etc.) Sal noted that we have don’t have many youth leaders, or representatives of neighborhood/ethnic groups or parent’s groups. In general, our membership is primarily service providers, with few persons identified as community members.
- Suggestions, Directions for Outreach – Both agreed to try and identify some persons from the identified underrepresented groups and invite them to join. We will ask them to at least sign up for the mailing list, and possibly come to a meeting. Sal asked for copies of short elevator “pitches” about ACEs.
- Next Steps, Next Meeting – Allen will present the survey findings and recommendations to the Steering Committee. He will then share the results and supported recommendations at the next general meeting. The membership committee will meet on July 18th, 1-2 pm in the Humboldt Room, at 415 Humboldt St. Santa Rosa (Public Health)
