Sonoma County ACES Connection group is moving forward and making progress! Yesterday 18 community members came together in collaboration. In addition to applying for the Mobilizing Action for Resilient Communities (MARC) funding, the members agreed to establish a speakers bureau, we are looking at developing a steering committee for our larger group, two mental health providers are scheduled to present to school district staff at a professional development day on trauma informed care, and we are preparing to host Paper Tiger movie previews in the community and within the larger health department.
If you know of someone in the community with an interest in ACES, trauma informed care, trauma responsive care, policy, systems change, or any other related areas of focus – let them know of our meetings. Our next meeting will be Sept 23, 2015 from 12:30 to 2:00. Instead of our usual meeting on August 26, 2015 – we will start the Paper Tigers movie preview at noon! The movie viewing will be in the same space we usually meet-however, participation will be somewhat limited. Please look for the Eventbrite link to for details!
