Ms. Grant is Director of the
California Center of Excellence for Trauma Informed Care
Ms. Grant trains professionals on trauma, substance abuse, PTSD, eating disorders, problem gambling, domestic violence, sexual assault & child abuse. As a trained policy analyst, she looks at how understanding the neurobiological effects of trauma, safety & skills-building can be adapted for effective programming, staff training, and policy and procedures oversite to create and benefit a variety of treatments, services, and outcomes. Ms. Grant oversees the Center’s research, program, professional development, and policy analysis activities.

A day-long event to help community members and professionals develop a strong foundation in trauma-informed practices and approaches. Rooted in the SAMHSA model, the training will provide essential knowledge related to trauma and its recovery, standards for practices and policies, assessments for agencies to create an plan for transformation. A strong, common foundations and a core focus on safety allowing communities to come together to determine clear priorities, effective measures and a powerful voice for advocacy.
Objectives: Learn what trauma is by defining it & seeing pathways for recovery Address trauma in children and youth by recognizing trauma exposure and knowing best practices Create a trauma-informed community by crafting and implementing a countywide resiliency-building vision across sectors Envision a trauma-informed region by creating synergy around safety and resiliency across counties Make an impact on local & state policy by advocating for safety and resiliency.
Who Should Attend: Social Service Workers, therapists, counselors, foster parents, CASA Advocates, educators, healthcare providers, probation officers, mental health clinicians, parents.
