The PRAMS surveillance currently covers about 83% of all U.S. births.

- American Indian race
- Younger maternal age
- Less years of education
- Not married
- Lower household income
RISK FACTORS AND OUTCOMES ASSOCIATED WITH HIGH ACE SCORES INCLUDE:
- No insurance before pregnancy
- Smoking or illicit drug use before pregnancy
- Attending less than 80% of prenatal care visits
- Teeth not cleaned during pregnancy
- Emotional abuse during pregnancy
- Diabetes, hypertension, or depression during pregnancy
- The infant not sleeping alone in the same room with the mother
