The entire ACE Overcomers staff joined the Valley Learning Community on February 13, 2018 in Clovis, California for a 1-day seminar on RESILIENCY.
Strategies 2.0 facilitated the training, that brought together representatives from the following counties: Fresno, Kern, Madera, Merced, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Tulare and Kings.
Strategies 2.0 offers free training, consultation, peer learning, and other professional development opportunities both in-person and online.
The day consisted of a panel discussion, made up of 4 case managers who shared their own Resilience Story. Following that, was an interactive training on Working & Helping Clients to be more RESILIENT.
A final exercise for the day, included a team building exercise where individuals worked in groups creating a campaign for a "RESILIENCE MOVEMENT". The ACE Overcomers team identified that to start a successful movement a three- prong approach would be needed. The campaign would focus on Individuals, Agencies, and Regionally to prevent the traumatization of the next generation. ACE Overcomers will strive to give individuals, agencies and the region the biopsychosocial education needed to thrive. ACE Overcomers trainer and facilitator, Don Caballero even provided a new hashtag slogan for the campaign: "#knowingishalfthebattle!".
It was a great day for ACE Overcomers: The Center for Resiliency & Trauma-Informed Training staff to learn, share and network with other Central Californian Champions for RESILIENCY.
