Thank you for preparing this document.  A few updates on the highlights... Children's Home Society partnered with Center for the Prevention of Child Maltreatment on the statewide initiative to support trauma informed care through resilient communities. An inaugural initiative event in January brought Dr. Robert Anda, co-founder of the Adverse Childhood Experience study, and Laura Porter, former director of the Washington Family Policy Council, to kick off the South Dakota ACEs and Resiliency Fellowship.   Twenty-six individuals from multiple sectors across the state ,were selected o participate in and ACE Interface training and learning community around building self-healing communities .  Together health and mental health care providers, educators, law enforcement, clergy, business people, philanthropists, community members, parents, foster and adoptive parents, the courts, child advocacy groups are coming together to collectively address the issue of trauma and what can be done to prevent or counter its effects.

Children’s Home Society will facilitate dialogue, invite and welcome players to the table, empower others to implement trauma-informed practices in their organizations, host training events, track and communicate progress, and keep the momentum going! Together we will build our communities’ paths to resilience, one conversation at a time.  Building self-healing communities is one of multiple initiatives that are outlined in the Center for the Prevention of Child Maltreatment's 10-year-plan to end child abuse in  South Dakota.

(White Buffalo paragraph is correct, as I know)

Under State Initiative:  We are currently referring to this as SD ACEs and Resiliency Connections.  It is facilitated by Children's Home Society of South Dakota and The Center for the Prevention of Child Maltreatment.
