The Community Resilience Initiative (CRI) started ORM in 2013 and it has become an annual tradition that supports our efforts at community engagement and resilience building. Both the City Council and County Commissioners sign annual Proclamations to kick off ORM.
ORM anchors us to our community and is a month dedicated to celebrating and strengthening both our inner resilience and community resilience. For Walla Walla’s ninth annual ORM celebration, three local organizations - Blue Zones Project, CRI, and the YWCA - are partnering together to look at resilience from different angles and offer a whole month of activities, including a lunch time webinar series on every Thursday of the month. Our common goal is to not just survive, but thrive despite the difficult times we live in.
While you may not live in Walla Walla, we still encourage you to look at our website (criresilient.org/community-engagement) for more details. Maybe our calendar will inspire you to start a resilience month in your community.
