MEDFORD, Ore. – Today high school students around the Rogue Valley got the opportunity of a lifetime.
Derek Deboer and his wife Brooke are a part of a program called Pictures of Hope.
12 high school students ranging from sophomore to senior met at Larks in Medford.
Each student will get a digital camera to help document their hopes and dreams.
Derek DeBoer owner of TC Chevrolet said "usually one of the kid’s hopes and wildest dreams is to have a college education and one of the things that Brooke and I believe in is that giving others the opportunity that we’ve been lucky to have in our life.”
The students will have the entire weekend to shoot photos and document their dreams and the winner will get a full ride scholarship.
“Being able to provide a college scholarship to kids that might not have had the opportunity to go is amazing,” Brooke DeBoer, the Producer of Fastlife TV Show said.
For Students like Xavier and Perry, this is an opportunity of a lifetime.
"My mom was diagnosed with cancer my sophomore year and I want to work for National Geographic and travel the world and take pictures and I want her to come with me,” Xavier Mcveigh, Senior at Central Medford High School.
