From the League of Extraordinary People in Federal Way:
We are seeking Doctors, Nurse Practitioners, and Social Justice Healthcare Organizers from the community to help us develop a Black & Multiracial Behavioral Healthcare Clinic and Residential Community on the 1.5 acres of property we own in Federal Way, WA. Amidst the circumstances created by the current pandemic, we are establishing virtual services such as Case Management, Life Coaching, and more.
The experience and knowledge members of the community from the above fields would bring to this work is invaluable to us. The League of Extraordinary People is a Black-owned, peer-founded, and peer-staffed Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) organization that was created specifically for individuals and families of color. Our hopes are that our peer-based, TIC science- and evidence-based approach can improve our current disparities in healthcare and behavioral healthcare outcomes by creating an integrated, residential self-healing community for transgenerational healing and to develop resilience.
This property can be developed into a 6-story mixed-use residential community for healing, or 18 townhouses to develop a Black & Multiracial Trauma-Informed Care Integrative Intensive Outpatient Clinic with its own Residential Community. We can build a culturally-relevant healthcare, Trauma-Informed Clinic, Life Skills Schools and Childcare programs so we can educate our children and adults about the healthcare we need to know as a species, not a race!
If you are interested in joining us to collaborate in bringing this model to fruition in South King County, please feel free to email us at contact@tloep.org for a prompt response. You can visit our website at www.tloep.org for more details on our work.
