You can create a classroom and school environment where students feel connected and encouraged. Imagine a room filled with young people who are engaged in learning, contribute to problem-solving, and help build their own community.
Rooted Relationships brings together the most helpful and practical tools from the latest brain science research, culturally responsive teaching, trauma and attachment theory, and social emotional learning.
We are offering this workshop in-person at Bryn Mawr Elementary School in Renton, on Tues & Wed, June 21 & 22 and at Cascade Elementary School in Renton, on Mon & Tues, August 15 & 16. 8:30 - 4:30 PDT. An online option is available for those who can not join us in person.
You can help children with the social-emotional support and skill-building that they urgently need. Gain resources and learn tools that will make an immediate difference in your classroom and school.
Join us to explore how to:
- Set-up and consistently hold effective problem-solving class meetings
- Understand behavior as communication and know how to respond to challenging behavior
- Apply a trauma-responsive lens to classroom challenges
- Strengthen your own self-regulation and co-regulation skills
- Build an equitable learning community where everyone knows they belong and their voice matters
The course is appropriate for teachers, administrators, counselors, paraprofessionals and youth development program providers.
