Workshop Overview: This workshop will provide an overview of the Six Seconds framework for understanding emotional intelligence and how it supports professional development. Emotional intelligence is the capacity to blend thinking and feeling to make optimal decisions - which is key to having successful relationships and improved effectiveness. The Six Seconds Emotional Intelligence model provides a framework for learning and action.

I like Six Seconds. My partner made a product they sell, called Mixed Emotions cards. They invited us to Boston in 2012 to display and explain them during a day in their conference devoted to vendor services and products. Now we're moving it into new directions!

We use them also in our trauma healing work. People often get stuck in a relative few emotions when they go into freeze, and then come out. The cards help their emotional literacy expand, and to see more of the gradient of emotions rather than just the full on/off view.
