Cara Messmore, Prevention & Crisis Manager for DJUSD, and Michelle Flowers, Principal of King High School, attended the 1st Annual Creating Trauma-Sensitive Schools Conference in Washington D.C. Both left inspired by the work that is being done on a national level and affirmed in the work they are doing in Davis schools. There is still so much work to be done to support our young people, especially those with ACEs, but the good news is that we have hundreds of Davis educators becoming more familiar with the impact of trauma and creating safe classrooms so that all can learn and thrive.
