CASA fundraiser tugs on Yolo residents’ heartstrings [DavisEnterprise.com]

 

Dozens of Yolo County CASA supporters came together under the country sky at Park Winters on Sept. 11 to raise money for the 400-plus foster children in the county.

The “I Am For the Child” Dinner and Auction is Yolo County CASA’s biggest annual fundraiser and accounts for a significant portion of the nonprofit agency’s budget. This year’s event was its most successful yet at a time when it is critical in order to meet Yolo County CASA’s 2020 goal of providing every foster child with a CASA advocate.

“The generosity of our constituents is incredibly moving,” said Tracy Fauver, executive director. “I continue to be deeply grateful for the passion that our community has for the work we do. We have a lofty goal of providing every foster child in Yolo County with a CASA volunteer by 2020. We are currently a quarter of the way there and this will get us even further down a challenging but doable path.
