Greetings all and Happy New Year!
We hope everyone enjoyed a joyous and restful holiday season and you are ready for a new year dedicated to creating a trauma-informed Yolo County in 2015!
Below are notes from our December 19th Yolo ACEs Connection meeting. Our January meeting will be held on Friday, January 16th (next Friday) from 12-1:30pm at the Yolo County Health offices.
At the January meeting, we will be hearing from Jane Stevens who will give an overview of ACEs and resiliency building. We are so lucky to have Jane as “one of our own” here in Yolo – she has a long history of presenting to a wide variety of audiences on ACEs and the neurobiology of toxic stress and is considered a national leader in these efforts. The goal of our meeting will be to hear Jane’s presentation to help us:
1. identify what other individuals/ groups/ organizations in Yolo we may want to approach to join our ACEs and resiliency building efforts and
2. Familiarize ourselves with the information in the hopes that we all can join Jane in presenting this information to our colleagues and community members.
We plan to post Jane’s slides ahead of the meeting so that you can review them (so keep an eye out on the Yolo ACEs Connection site. Come ready to ask questions, ask for clarifications, more examples, etc.
Please let us know if there are agenda items you would like to discuss at the meeting and hope to see many of you this Friday in Woodland!
