Be Strong Families (BSF) is excited to announce new and updated Living the
Protective Factors resources. https://www.bestrongfamilies.o
Building on the initial message of empowerment
- parents have a lot of control over how they raise their children, what
environment they create in their homes and how they keep their children safe
- BSF staff have built on this important foundation in three main ways.
First, they recognize that a strong parent is a healthy parent. Building
parents' holistic vitality - mind, body, spirit, finances, social life and
environment - has become a main focus of the work of Be Strong Families.
Second, they underscore that when it comes to keeping children safe, and
taking into consideration all the research and evidence about trauma,
emotional safety is as important as physical safety. Third, BSF recognizes
that while parents impact a lot about their children's lives and
trajectories, especially when they are very young, parents can't control
everything. Knowing that our country is grappling with ever-increasing
political divides and the rise of open prejudice in mainstream politics, BSF
believes that protective factors are a way that parents can put their love
into action - for the safety of their family and for a compassionate and
just world for all families.
