April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, and each year, California strives to work in unity across the state to raise awareness. The California Department of Social Services, Office of Child Abuse Prevention (OCAP), is in process of creating materials and a toolkit that can support your awareness campaigns. We expect the materials and toolkit to be posted on the OCAP website in November 2020. Please be on the lookout!
In partnership with the Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) Center, the OCAP would like to invite you to join us for Kids’ Day at the Capitol on Thursday, April 23, 2020. This event will take place at the California State Capitol from 10:00a.m. – 2:00p.m. Help us showcase prevention to the legislators and to the public. Each booth will provide resources for families and offer engaging child-friendly activities. By bringing people and organizations together we can improve the communities in which our families live and give kids #GreatChildhoods! We hope that your organization will participate and help spread the word about child abuse prevention!
If you are interested in having a booth at Kids’ Day at the Capitol, please email kidsday@dss.ca.gov for more information.
