The Catalyst will be embarking on a yearlong systems change and engagement initiative, in close collaboration with the National Council for Behavioral Health, working to raise the capacity of providers and the agencies that structure their supports to Advance Trauma-Informed Communities. The Catalyst is a proud partner and grant recipient of the ACEs Aware Initiative. In the month of August, the Catalyst invites community-based providers and allied professionals to engage in generative dialogue about what this journey means and how to actualize this change – for a community to build a movement around a child, family, or individual once an ACE is identified – defining how we as a collective choose resilience as our pathway to healing.
The Impacts of COVID-19 on California’s Children, Families, and Communities on 8/27

The California Campaign to Counter Childhood Adversity (4CA) invites your participation in an upcoming interactive webinar that will explore the economic impacts of COVID-19 and how it has affected, and continues to affect, California communities. Featuring a panel of experts, Dr. Flojaune Cofer, Public Health Advocates, All Children Thrive, California; Dr. Elisa Nicholas, TCC Family Health; and Lynnan Svensson, MSN, RN, PHN, El Dorado County Health & Human Services Agency will share a state-level landscape overview and describe local-level needs from various system perspectives. Participants will be engaged in discussion to determine where opportunities exist for policy and systems change. This webinar is intended to be one of two in a series that will seek to ultimately raise up the experiences of California communities and family-serving organizations in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic; describe the economic impacts, including elevated unemployment; and protests against systemic racism and police brutality catalyzed by the murder of George Floyd which have impacted California’s communities; and explore where opportunities exist for policy and systems change.
