Parenting Videos in English and Spanish

Psychologist, Jamie Hanson, PhD, from the University of Pittsburgh, gathered data from over 600 participants in an intervention developed at the University of Georgia designed to improve warmth, supportiveness, and positive caregiving between parents and kids. Youth who had been in the intervention had fewer behavioral problems compared to youth who did not participate. Follow-up scans found that positive brain changes related to self-regulation were still present in adulthood.

Scientists studied the characteristics of rumors and rumor victims in early adolescence in a longitudinal study of 300 youth between fifth and seventh grade. Results found that the characteristics of rumors tended to be gender specific. Experts say that it’s important to talk to your kids about how rumors can be harmful.
