WEBINARS on Be the One Campaign; Professional Resilience; Safe Sleep; Primary Care and Telehealth; and NAEYC presentations

1-2:30 on Tuesday, June 2

The Be the One webinar will present research and action steps designed to engage community members, agencies, and leaders in trauma/healing and resilience focused work. The overall goal is to present information that will assist agencies, leaders, and community members in building safer, more stable, more nurturing relationships and stronger, healthier communities. This is foundational work and can serve as a base for engaging in broader, deeper discussions on structural, historic, and institutional trauma and the creation of healing within our communities. Please see the attached flyer or visit StrategiesCA.org for more information.

11am-12 on Wednesday, May 20

To build others up, we need a strong foundation. Today, we all stand on unfamiliar ground. In fact, it feels as if the ground is shifting continually beneath us. Social distancing and sheltering have dramatically changed personal and professional lives and brought on a whole new set of stressors for everyone. New working environments, new technology platforms, unrealistic expectations for ourselves and from employers, job losses, children at home…the list goes on and on. The toll this stress can take is real. And there are self-care, reflective practice, and mindfulness techniques that can help combat and prevent negative effects.

10:30am on Thursday, May 21

The purpose of the webinar is to help local coalitions and programs strengthen their existing safe sleep programs, and to support emerging new safe sleep community and hospital programs. Besides other invaluable safe sleep issue information this webinar will explore how safe sleep programs and issues are being impacted by COVID-19, challenges and solutions. This free webinar is co-sponsored by the CA Coalition for Children’s Safety and Health (CCCSH) and CA DPH Injury and Violence Prevention Branch. If you have trouble registering or need help contact Gerry Root at rootge@gmail.com

Noon-1pm on Wednesday, May 27

This webinar will focus on building understanding and identifying primary care and telehealth strategies and tools to address the secondary health effects of the COVID-19 emergency. Widespread stress and anxiety regarding COVID-19, compounded by the economic distress due to lost wages, employment and financial assets; mass school closures; and necessary physical distancing measures can result in an increase of stress-related health conditions. Individuals with a history of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) are particularly vulnerable to these secondary health impacts of the COVID-19 emergency.

Please see the attached flyer for more information!
