Yolo County Bridge to Housing Program considered a success [DailyDemocrat.com]

A year after the completion of Yolo County’s Bridge to Housing program, graduates are still faring well.

According to Tracey Dickinson, Homeless Program coordinator for Yolo County’s Health and Human Services Agency, 42 of 53 participants are still engaged in services with case managers.

The project helped 38 people find permanent housing and as of last week, 32 of them are still being housed.

It has been reported that six participants lost their permanent housing due to changing family situations, eviction, or arrest.

In November 2014, Yolo County, the city of West Sacramento, and Yolo County Housing partnered to implement the pilot project.

The endeavor began when a West Sacramento developer purchased the property along the West Sacramento riverbank, where dozens of homeless people camped.
