As part of the Foster Youth FAFSA Challenge, Yolo County Office of Education is hosting a Youth For College Night with a focus on Foster and McKinney Vento (homeless) youth. Youth in their senior year of high school and their caregivers are invited to attend and complete the FAFSA, Dream Act, and Chafee application with trained experts. During the event, dinner will be provided. There will also be special giveaways to seniors in attendance. Although the event has a focus on serving our McKinney Vento and foster youth, all seniors are welcome to attend. We will also have a "Money Matters" workshop presented by Travis Federal Credit Union. Please distribute the attached flyer to those that directly serve and work with seniors.
If possible, please keep track of interested youth and forward contact information to either Alisia Peters alisia.peters@ycoe.org or Mariah Ernst-Collins Mariah.ernst-collins@ycoe.org. This will also us to have a headcount for dinner and arrange transportation, if needed. Please let Mariah Mariah.ernst-collins@ycoe.org know if you have questions or would like to volunteer.
