The Yolo Resilience Network and Yolo CASA were one of the many information booths laid out at Community Park in Davis last Thursday night. This is an annual event put on by the Davis City Chamber of Commerce. Besides free brownies, tote bags and pens, this event is a wonderful opportunity for organizations like the Yolo Resilience Network and Yolo CASA to introduce the public to our organizations, show them what we are doing, and listen to learn what is needed. We used our magnet dart board to help children put a picture to stress and emotions and gave away many of the Stress Color Wheels to families to use at home.
Look for us throughout the summer at other community events in our county as we continue to spread awareness about the ACEs study, the impact of trauma and toxic stress on long-term health and well-being, and how we can build a resilient Yolo.
