The International Transformational Resilience Coalition (ITRC) and the American Public Health Association will host the “Building Mental Wellness and Psychosocial Resilience for Climate Change” livecast workshop on Monday June 12, at 12:30 p.m. ET. While public health programs focus on providing short-term assistance during and after major climate events, the public also needs long-term strategies to cope with the strain that rising, ongoing climate change has on mental health and psychosocial well-being and use those adversities as catalysts to learn, grow, and increase personal, social, and ecological wellbeing.
The Workshop Will Be Led By
Bob Doppelt, MS, MS, ITRC Coordinator
Lise Van Susternen, MD, Forensic Psychiatrist
In this workshop - livecast by APHA on its website - presenters will illustrate how public health professionals can help build widespread transformational resilience for the traumas and toxic stresses of climate change.
