Positive Parenting to Help Hurt Kids Heal

Yolo County ONE Stop Building, Enter at Standard Door, left of main entrance

Foster Parents often find the court-ordered plan for visitation and contact with birth families stressful and anxiety provoking.  You will be provided a tour of both the Yolo County Child Welfare Visitation Rooms and also of CommuniCare. Definitely our goal is to reduce your stress about parking, drop-off an pick-up.  Plus, we will work to clarify the significance of holding together the bond between a child and his or her birth parents, including grandparents, particularly during the reunification process, and the developmental value for maintaining family ties. Important information will be given on the need for respect, professionalism, confidentiality, and tips for making visitation a positive event.

Presented by Amber Presidio, Child Welfare Supervisor & Sara Gavin, CommuniCare
