Parent Workshop - Improving Communication with your Teen - Thursday, Oct 26th, Cesar Chavez Community School, Woodland
Attend a free parent workshop on Thursday night in Woodland on improving communication with your teen. The presentation is based off of Nancy and Paul Aikin’s Hold Me Tight/Let Me Go for teens workshop. Incorporating a hands on piece, this helps parents understand the negative cycle that they get into with their kids. It that has been really powerful when done it in the past. (says the therapist that is offering it!) The flyer is attached. The presentation will be translated into Spanish.

UpStander Carnival Sunday, October 15th, 2-4 pm, Vets Memorial, Davis
At some time, every kid becomes a bystander — someone who witnesses bullying but doesn’t get involved out of fear or lack of knowing what to do. But that child can be an “upstander” instead — the person who knows what’s happening is wrong and does something to make things right. It takes courage to speak up on someone’s behalf.
