This past week members of the First 5 Yuba County team attended a TAMAR training. It is a super simple curriculum, that is considered psycho-educational (non-therapeutic) and can be administered by lay persons in the community. Correctional facilities, faith based organizations, school districts, parent programs, youth programs, and more, are utilizing this in a variety of settings/
In addition to education and discussion, the intervention features creative expression and and mind-body awareness skills to help develop vital skills that promote resilience.
They even strategically give reminders throughout the curriculum to refrain from therapeutic conversation, as again, this can, and is intended to, be implemented in a non-therapeutic setting.
