What is your interest in PACEs and resilience science?
Through my internship, I work with families and children. All children experience so much throughout their lives, with most kids experiencing at least 1 trauma. These traumatic experiences, if left unchecked, can do some real damage to children's psyche and create so many risk factors for them later in life. I think learning about ACEs is so important for anyone that cares for and/or works with children as it can lead the child to develop the protective factors needed to not have that traumatic experience cause lifelong damage. And, the earlier that intervention takes place, the better the chance of helping that child overcome even the worst experience.
