What is your interest in PACEs and resilience science?

I have attended ACES trainings with Brad Barton twice and each time was able to identify with children I have served that have dealt with adverse experiences. I believe that what happens to/with children affects them for their future both mentally and physically. I had the opportunity to hear Dr. Angela Duckworth speak, prior to her book Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance being released. Her passion for the study of non IQ competencies sparked more interest for me. In a world where score seems to be the only thing that matters, we need to educate parents, educators, caregivers and youth about grit and self-control. It is always good to join likeminded individuals and build a network of support for the work we do with youth. This training would increase my knowledge and competency to present on the subject as well as allow me to return to the 220 youth that attend Kids Club Kids and 32 employees I hire to raise awareness and share tools that could increase grit among youth.
