What is your interest in PACEs and resilience science?

I learned about ACEs after I became homeless due to mental illness. I was doing research to try to find answers to my own questions when I came across the ACEs study. I had many questions but was frustrated with the lack of answers about the steps I needed to take to recover from my challenges of bipolar, DID, and PTSD. I'm an artsy, crafty, "old-school" church gal, so I am developing faith-based curriculum based on what I learned during my personal experiences of recovering from trauma and subsequent homelessness. I am developing a workshop due to my desire to help teach my grandchildren a new point of view about the way we help meet the needs of those who are suffering from trauma and homelessness. I believe we can improve our ministry efforts for those who have been traumatized, and particularly for those who have become homeless due to their mental health challenges. One of my most heartfelt Biblical mandates is to comfort whereby we have been comforted ourselves, so the topics of ACEs and Resilience Building are of utmost importance to me!!!
