What is it you do for a living? (Parenting, volunteering, CEO of social service organization, etc.)

MSW, LCSW Perinatal Social Worker - 14 years at CommuniCare Health Centers - CPSP Member of FIMR and PMHC Transitioning to School Social Work Volunteer at Juvenile Detention Center Becoming member of ACEs Registering for Juvenile Community Board Member

What organization(s) do you volunteer or work for?

Currently not employed after a 7 year bout with illness. I am transitioning back to the Yolo County Community, to attend School of Social Work Continuing Education to obtain a Pupil Personnel Services Credential (PPSC), to find placement in K-12 schools and to bring to them what I learn through ACEs and other meetings I attend.

What is your interest in PACEs and resilience science?

Specific interests in Maternal Mood Disorders, infant, toddler, primary grades and adolescent development and how adverse childhood experiences might affect youth and their parent ability to parent. I'm also interested in why some kids/families make it and others struggle more. So I'm interested in the concept of resiliency. I also want to know much more about Trauma and its effect on development. And overall how high ACE scores and Trauma affect the ability of children/adolescents to positively make it through our school systems without finding themselves in the juvenile justice system.. How can we intervene earlier and work on prevention.
