What is it you do for a living? (Parenting, volunteering, CEO of social service organization, etc.)
I am a professional musician (pianist, vocalist, composer) and I teach private piano lessons while raising my teenage son in Santa Rosa, CA. I am currently in my practicum phase of obtaining my certification as an Interfaith Spiritual Director from The Chaplaincy Institute in Berkeley. I
What organization(s) do you volunteer or work for?
I have been an active volunteer for over 3 years with Compassion Prison Project (CPP). I have been fortunate to visit a few CDCR facilities over the past year and I have held space with hundreds of our incarcerated brothers - bringing compassionate understanding and heart-centered listening to them while raising awareness around the ACEs and how childhood trauma can affect our lives and our decision-making capabilities as adults.
What is your interest in PACEs and resilience science?
I came across PACEs and this particular seminar/program through researching possible employment positions Hanna Institute - I am looking for employment opportunities within organizations that deal with and bring awareness to healing (Preventing) childhood trauma, reentry and anti-recidivism work with formerly incarcerated individuals as well as working within the prison systems to bring education, compassionate listening, human interaction/connection, and non-judgmental circle keeping.
