What is your interest in PACEs and resilience science?

I am striving hard to bring the ACE concepts and educational frame work to Indigenous communities. I believe our resilience is rooted in who we are as the first people of this continent to endure structural and community violence. More specifically building and educating the public understanding that the genocide of California Native Americans was built on policy. So now we must use our community to change the policies of a union that was built on the backs of our ancestors. We as traditional people have the ability to change our epigenetics on a cellular level through the teachings of the last seven generations in turn create safe healing spaces for the next seven generations yet to come. As the Executive Director at Northern Circle Indian Housing (NCIHA), I am passionate about providing hope, healing, and housing for Tribal nations. I have five years of experience in developing and implementing community-centered programs that foster Tribal self-determination and restorative justice in NAHASDA programs. I have co-authored 22 Assembly Bill 1010 waivers that authorize Tribal autonomy and sovereignty in accessing and utilizing state funds for housing projects. I have also led a team that secured $52 million in grant funds for NCIHA-specific initiatives within three fiscal years. These achievements reflect my analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as my commitment to learning from and serving the diverse needs and aspirations of Tribal Nations. I am inspired by the legacy of Audre Lorde and the philosophy of Robert Green's servant leadership, and I strive to practice cultural humility and accountability in all my endeavors.
