Erica Martinez-Close, is a holistic health & wellness practitioner currently residing in New York City. She comes from a long ancestral line of holistic practitioners from Honduras, Central America. Erica learned the traditions of her family’s holistic wellness treatments, with some therapies dating back 5 generations.
In 2015, Erica received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the Colin Powell School of Civic and Global Leadership at The City College of New York. In 2016, she co-founded and was named the Director of Strategic Affairs of Be Well Medical Group (BWMG) located in Trinidad, West Indies. During her tenure she co-led the conventional western medical clinic towards its ultimate goal of sustained expansion throughout the Caribbean region. As a result of her leadership, she was named a finalist in the Global Startup Ecosystem (GSE) Fall 2018 Caribbean cohort.In 2019, upon resigning from her position at BWMG, she received her Master’s Certification in Supply Chain Management and Logistics from Michigan State University, in addition to being named an Aspen Institute Scholar.
Erica is passionate about bridging the gap between western conventional healthcare and holistic healing modalities, and advocating for trauma survivors.

What is your interest in PACEs and resilience science?
As a sexual abuse trauma survivor, I have dedicated my life to implementing trauma-informed and resilience-building practices based on ACEs science.
