What is it you do for a living? (Parenting, volunteering, CEO of social service organization, etc.)
Currently I'm a Social Work Master's student, with a planned graduation of May 2021. I'm working as an intern at a healthcare clinic located within a new permanent supportive housing building. We provide wraparound services for residents who were previously unhoused or at risk of losing their housing, as well as outpatient behavioral, mental, and physical health services for the community. I'm gaining experience in providing individual counseling.

What is your interest in PACEs and resilience science?
I believe their is immense value and potential in understanding and implementing ACEs and resilience science. Understanding the impacts of ACEs can inform, validate, and inspire further efforts in prevention. By implementing education around trauma and its impacts, symptoms, interventions, etc. across various professions we can, as a collective society, shift how we view mental health and behavior. With prevention and early intervention, more individuals and families may have their trauma be recognized, they may receive services and support sooner, and they may then have higher likelihood of achieving safety and well-being versus addiction, homelessness, incarceration, etc.
