What is it you do for a living? (Parenting, volunteering, CEO of social service organization, etc.)
Ms. Jami Freeman is currently a PhD Student, a Culturally Responsive Speaker, Advocate & Psycho-Social Educator, Recovery Coach & Instructor. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology-Forensic Psychology/Criminal Justice and a Master’s degree in Psychology-Social Change & Public Administration. She is a very passionate and driven individual whose focus is on community enhancement. In her current capacity this provides a viable platform to cultivate awareness. Additionally, she is an ordained Spiritual teacher, and serves under the Bio-Psycho-Social-Spiritual Method of care. This model of care is a holistic and humanistic view that encompasses the physical, mental/emotional, social, & spirituality of an individual. To her, a profound application of this model would contribute significantly towards achieving remarkable evolutions in the conceptualization of disease, health and treatment.
It is her real lived life experiences in combination with the power of education and holistic treatment that equip her so well in fulfilling her roles as a patient advocate, group facilitator, recovery specialist and trainer. The fulfillment and satisfaction associated with these fields is the driving force behind her choice to focus her thesis on the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE’s) on health outcomes, addiction, mental health and overall well-being of an individual. This arises from a greater awareness of the psychological basis of illness, & a desire to formulate improved, efficient treatment methods.
Ms. Freeman is a dedicated and ambitious individual who truly believes in the potential of Psychology & Spirituality to improve the lives of people. This motivates her desire to reshape mental health through increased research and advocacy efforts. With this influence a shift can occur from the traditional illness-centered model to a more person-centered perspective that allows all members of society to live meaningful lives.
What organization(s) do you volunteer or work for?
Ms. Freeman wears many hats in the community and partners with many exceptional, conscious and ethics based Community Organizations within the Washington DC Metro Area.

However, I would like to learn more and I would like to stay up to date with evolving information or research in this field.
If you're part of a community-based PACEs initiative, which one?
I'm a part of the AZ ACE Consortium
