What is it you do for a living? (Parenting, volunteering, CEO of social service organization, etc.)
Karen Carnabucci, MSS, LCSW, TEP, is a trainer, psychotherapist, author and consultant and the founder of the Lancaster School of Psychodrama and Experiential Psychotherapies in Lancaster, Pa. She employs traditional, contemporary and alternative models to work with people and groups to solve problems, make decisions, expand creativity and find inner peace.
She offers teaching and clinical supervision and consultation with emphasis on the methods of psychodrama, sociometry and group psychotherapy, as well as Family and Systemic Constellations, sand tray and image and symbol, including the Tarot. She has particular interest in personal, social and inter-generational trauma; addiction; family relationships; creativity; and social change.
She is a licensed clinical social worker, a nationally board-certified trainer, educator and practitioner in psychodrama, sociometry and group psychotherapy, and is certified as a Systemic Constellations facilitator by the Stark Institut, Germany, and The Hellinger Institute of DC, Bethesda, Md.
She is the author of “Show and Tell Psychodrama: Skills for Therapists, Coaches, Teachers, Leaders” and co-author of “Integrating Psychodrama and Systemic Constellation Work: New Directions for Action Methods, Mind-Body Therapies and Energy Healing” and “Healing Eating Disorders with Psychodrama and Other Action Methods: Beyond the Silence and the Fury.”
What organization(s) do you volunteer or work for?
Karen Carnabucci, LCSW, TEP, is the founder of the Lancaster School of Psychodrama and Experiential Psychotherapies, which offers instruction for mental health professionals, educators and other helping professionals with continuing education (Pennsylvania and Wisconsin) and psychodrama credits. She volunteers for Recovery Day Lancaster, a celebration of addiction recovery in Lancaster, Pa., and occasionally offers presentations to professionals and non-profit groups at no charge.
What is your interest in PACEs and resilience science?
I have been working with adults who have experienced abuse, neglect and other trauma in their chaotic, alcoholic, addicted or mentally ill families of origin since 1989.
