What is it you do for a living? (Parenting, volunteering, CEO of social service organization, etc.)

Social worker and currently pursuing my Doctorate of Social Work

What organization(s) do you volunteer or work for?

Ocean County Health Department

What is your interest in PACEs and resilience science?

I am a DSW student and am working on a program design that links DCP&P with Early Intervention so that more children receive developmental screenings (which can lead to identifying more children in need of services). This program design would go beyond the guidelines of the CAPTA requirements, training would help DCP&P workers complete simple developmental screenings/questionnaires with families in the field which can lead to the conversation as to why Early Intervention may be warranted. It is important to not only avoid ACEs, but to build counter ACEs. Early childhood is a time for children to build healthy bonds and for parents to learn appropriate skills through child development as opposed to a typical parenting style class.

If you're part of a community-based PACEs initiative, which one?

I am currently not part of any initiatives.
