What is your interest in PACEs and resilience science?

Having worked in the juvenile justice sector for 15 years, I saw first-hand the impact of ACEs and the resulting cumulative effects on children. For the last five years, I served as Executive Director of a collective impact initiative designed to improve outcome for children from cradle to career. ACEs are often primary barriers to that success; therefore treating and preventing childhood trauma must be a priority. Most recently I was offered an opportunity to begin an Institute for Childhood Resilience within LSU Health Shreveport's Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine. The purpose of the institute is to integrate the science of resilience into policy and practice.

If you're part of a community-based PACEs initiative, which one?
